MTCS ranked ninth in latest AP prep football poll

MURFREESBORO – Middle Tennessee Christian School was recognized Monday for its best start in the high school football program’s history.

MTCS (6-0) was ranked ninth in the Associated Press’ Class 2A statewide poll.

The Cougars are one of four Murfreesboro schools ranked.

In Class 6A, Blackman (6-0) remained ranked second behind Maryville. Oakland (5-1) dropped from third to fourth despite beating Brentwood 49-7 on Friday. And Riverdale (5-1) jumped three spots to No. 6 after upsetting previous sixth-place Hendersonville 39-36. Hendersonville (5-1) is now ranked eighth.
