Boys hoops roundup: Riverdale stays perfect

Riverdale remained undefeated Tuesday night with a 69-54 boys basketball home win over Wilson Central.

Johnathan Matthews and Brad Woodson each scored 17 points.

The Warriors (3-0) extended a 15-point halftime lead to 26 with an 11-0 run to open the third quarter.

Gentry Bonds added 16 and Sidney Bell had nine.

Former Mt. Juliet quarterback Nolan Chowbay scored 16 points to lead Wilson Central.

Blackman 79, William Blount 42: Isaiah Hart scored 22 points and teammate Christian DeWitt had 12 points and 10 rebounds for the Blaze (1-0). Jordan Jeffries and Cedriontis Wilson each had 10.

Stewarts Creek 67, Summit 55: Jy'lan Washington scored a game-high 36 points to lead the Red Hawks over Summit. Washington had 14 of Stewarts Creek's 18 fourth-quarter points. Teammate Paul Kaelin had nine points.

John Carter led Summit with 22 points.

Smyrna 70, Shelbyville 47: Jaylen Johnson scored a team-high 28 points to lead Smyrna. Taylor Vanderbilt added 12 and Mykale Repress had 11.

Martin Luther King 77, Siegel 67: Omar Lyons led Siegel with 18 points, including four threes in the loss. Deante Miller had 14 and D.J. McGee added 12.

MLK's Jalen Duke scored 36 points to lead all scorers

Independence 56, Oakland 48: Ricky Dunnaway scored a team-high 31 points in the loss for the Patriots.
