Boys roundup: Riverdale falls to Independence

Riverdale dropped a 69-55 non-conference game to Independence on Friday night after being outscored 18-7 in the second quarter.

Sidney Bell led the Warriors (4-5) with 20 points. Teammate Brad Woodson had 13 and Brandon Somerville tallied 10 points.

Malcolm Walker led Independence with 23 points, dominating the paint and scoring from the free throw line. Teammate Austin Osborn hit four 3-pointers and finished with 21.

Riverdale returns to action on Monday with a non-conference game at Wilson Central. Riverdale defeated Wilson Central earlier this season by 15 points.

Eagleville 67, Community 50: Carson Rudd hit three 3-pointers and scored a game-high 27 points in the Eagles' District 9-A victory.

Eagleville improved to 7-4 overall, 2-1 in District 9-A play.

Calen Parker added 14 for Eagleville and Brandon Petrig added 10.

Darian Pride led Community with 14 points.

Cannon Co. 84, Smith Co. 60: Josh Ruhelen scored a team-high 32 points for the Lions (8-2 overall, 3-0 in 8-AA). Jacob Nave added 21 points and Marshall Mc Reynolds had 11.

Livingston Academy 65, Central Magnet 38: Livingston broke a tie game at halftime by outscoring the Tigers 22-6 in the third quarter to break the game open.

Matt Murray led Central with 10 points. Caleb Bartolotto added eight and Wes Patrick had seven for Central (2-12 overall, 0-4 in 8-AA)

JUNIOR VARSITY

Livingston Academy 66, Central Magnet 33: Nick Hamlett had 11 points to pace Central Magnet (3-7). Cole Yodersand Zach Peay had six apiece for the Tigers.
