Overton's Ugo Amadi decommits from Ole Miss

Overton senior Ugo Amadi has decommitted from Ole Miss, according to Bobcats coach Steve Williams

Amadi, who committed to Ole Miss in March, recently withdrew his pledge to the Rebels, but hasn’t necessarily eliminated them from contention. The standout defensive back has, however, narrowed down his choices to Ole Miss, Tennessee and LSU.

“He has decommitted, but that doesn’t mean that they’re out of the picture completely,” Williams said. “His choices now are (Ole Miss), LSU and Tennessee … I think he has a visit to LSU scheduled in January, so I would not expect him to make a decision before he goes on that visit.”

The 5-10, 180-pounder, who finished the season with 15 total touchdowns, was also an exceptional special teams player for Overton, returning a kickoff and three punts for touchdowns in 2014.

Amadi recorded two tackles and hauled in an interception in Friday’s Toyota East vs. West Tennessee All-Star Classic in Cookeville.

Repeated efforts to reach Amadi have been unsuccessful.
