Ensworth senior Brycen Hopkins has committed to play football at Purdue. The 6-5, 225-pound tight end announced his decision via Twitter during his official visit with the Boilermakers.

“Just committed to Purdue University!” Hopkins tweeted on Friday evening. “Excited for what the future holds! #boilerup”

Hopkins, the son of former Tennessee Titans offensive tackle Brad Hopkins, finished with three catches for 36 yards in the 10-7, BlueCross Bowl loss to Montgomery Bell Academy.

Hopkins, a two-star prospect according to 247Sports, also had scholarship offers from Jacksonville State and Mercer.

“Brycen is a very good student and I believe he’ll be a great college football player,” Ensworth coach Ricky Bowers said.
