Ravenwood's Van Jefferson commits to Ole Miss

Ravenwood senior Van Jefferson, a first-team All-Midstate selection and U.S. Army All-American, has committed to play football at Ole Miss, he annouced via Twitter on Sunday night.

“I have officially committed to The University of Mississippi. I want to thank my family, friends, and God through this process. #HottyToddy,” Jefferson tweeted.

Jefferson, a four-star prospect according to 247Sports, originally committed to Georgia in September, but the 6-foot-2, 180-pound wide receiver withdrew his pledge to the Bulldogs last week. Jefferson visited Oxford over the weekend.

Jefferson, the son of former NFL wide receiver and current Titans receivers coach Shawn Jefferson, concluded his senior season with 67 catches for 1,223 yards and 13 touchdowns, helping lead the Class 6A runner-up Raptors to a 14-1 record.
