On a night that served as both Homecoming and Senior Night, the Madison Mustangs celebrated their final regular season home game in style with a big 73-41 win over the visiting Scotts Hill Lions at Oman Arena.

Marquese Parram led the Mustangs with 19 points, Blake Donaldson added 18 points, and overall nine different Mustangs scored in the victory.

Madison head coach Darrell Maxwell thought his team's experience and size played a big role in the Senior Night victory.

"Our athleticism was key. We've got four senior guards that are pretty good," he said. "Scotts Hill is young, but they'll get better. We were also a little bit bigger inside, which helped us out a lot."

Parram's big night started early with eight points in the first quarter, including two 3s, to lead the Mustangs to a 15-11 advantage at the end of the first quarter.

The Mustangs led by as many as 26 points in the third quarter, but the Lions were able to cut the lead down to 54-33 at the end of the third.

Madison was able to put the game out of reach in the fourth quarter on their way to the final score of 73-41.

Scotts Hill was led in scoring by Stuart Milam and Austin Wade, who each had 12 points in the loss.

After the game, Maxwell was excited to start preparing for Jackson Christian in Madison's opening game of the District 15-A tournament Wednesday night.

"Now the season starts," he said.
