DII-AA Mr Basketball Winner Named
NASHVILLE - - -The winner of the Division II-AA Mr. Basketball Award was announced at the conclusion of the championship game today at Lipscomb University.
Micah Thomas from Briarcrest Christian School was named Mr. Basketball for 2015. The other two finalists were Jordan Bone of Ensworth High School and Darius Garland from Brentwood Academy.
Thomas is a 6’7”, junior, forward/guard for the Saints. He is a two year starter who averages 14 points, four rebounds, 2.5 blocks, 1.5 assists, and one steal per game. He shoots 49% from the field, 41% from three-point range, and 74% from the free throw line. This season Micah has been named to the All-Region team and was an All-Tournament selection at the Mater Dei tournament and the Houston, TX Invitational. He was also selected as MVP of the MLK Classic. Last season he was a Commercial Appeal “Best of the Preps” selection and was MVP of the Memphis/Atlanta Classic.
