DII-A Miss Basketball Winner Named
NASHVILLE - - -The winner of the Division II-A Miss Basketball Award was announced at the conclusion of the championship game today at Lipscomb University.
Kaylan Pugh from St. Mary’s was named Miss Basketball for 2015. The other two finalists were Anna Jones of University School of Jackson and Micah Scheetz from Webb School of Knoxville.
Pugh is a 5’9”, senior, guard/forward for the Turkeys. She is a five year starter who averages 29.2 points, six rebounds, three assists, and four steals per game. She shoots 70% from the field, 26% from three-point range, and 67% from the free throw line. She is a five-time All-District selection and was named District Player of the year this season and last season. Kaylan has been a four-time Commercial Appeal “Best of the Preps” selection. She has scored over 2,700 points in her career at St. Mary’s. This is the third time she has been named a finalist for the Miss Basketball Award.
