» Why chosen: Bowman finished second in Division I, rolling a career-best 289 in her finals win over Brentwood’s Camy Barber before falling by 12 pins to eventual state champion Ashley Channell of Hardin County in the state title match. Bowman, who posted a 185.95 average for the season, also helped lead the Lady Bees to a District 14 championship before ultimately falling to Wilson Central in the Region 6 semifinals.

» College plans: Will attend either Bethel or Union on a bowling scholarship.

» Quote: “It was just a great season with my teammates all in all. We did a lot of things that we weren’t able to do in the past, and of course the state individual tournament was fun, too. … To be honest with you, I don’t really remember; I was just locked in and everything was going right.”

» Family: Parents, Kathy and Kenny; brother, Korey (25), and sister-in-law, Loren (24); and dogs K.J. and Kya.

» How did you spend your spring break? “Bowling practice, bowling tournaments and being with friends and family.”

» Athletic background: “In addition to bowling, she also plays softball and played basketball through the 10th grade.”
