LEBANON — Lannom Craddock did not want to rush it Friday night, but that’s all he did on the way to a career game.

The Franklin senior carried 23 times for 250 yards and a touchdown as the Rebels rolled to a 35-3 win in a Region 3-6A clash at Wilson Central.

“In the past games, I think I’ve rushed it a little too much and haven’t really let the line do what they do. Tonight, I was a little more patient,” said Craddock, who had 16 carries for 180 yards in the first half and tacked on another seven carries for 70 yards in just eight minutes of work in the third quarter. “A lot of it was just clicking with the line. I think me being a little more patient and letting them do their thing.”

Craddock, whose previous best was a 23-carry, 135-yard night against Riverdale in Week 2, had 125 yards on eight carries in the first eight minutes Friday night. He carried six times for 73 yards on the opening drive, which was stopped at the 3, before having a hand in the first four touchdown drives by the Rebels (4-3, 2-2 Region 3-6A).

Craddock carried 14 times for 175 yards on those drives — which accounted for 279 of the team’s 425 yards — as Gentry Neese (9-yard run), Kyle Evans (31), Matthew Burns (4) and Craddock (15) all scored.

“We’re a reading defense and when we don’t do that we’re not very good,” Wilson Central coach Brad Dedman said. “And we kind of reverted back to what we did early in the season.”

Wilson Central (4-4, 2-3) was held without a first down for more than 18 minutes, and the Rebels were able to turn two Wildcat turnovers into touchdowns.
