WHITE HOUSE — White House-Heritage had waited 11 months between home games.

It only took a couple of minutes for the Patriots to make themselves at home.

White House-Heritage (4-3) scored early and often against Westmoreland, and the defense allowed only 50 yards of total offense in the first half in a 37-0 win over the Eagles.

White House-Heritage quarterback Austin Gunter connected on 6 of 9 passing for 120 yards and three touchdown passes, including two to Branson Kramm.

“I’ve got so much faith in our offense, but our defense really stood up tonight,” said Gunter.

Westmoreland (4-4) managed only one play on the White House-Heritage side of the field in the first half.

After Gunter’s first touchdown pass to Kramm put the Patriots up 7-0, Thadd Baker scored on a 43-yard run followed up with a 30-yard touchdown run by Chris Rippy.

“Austin has come along this season, and the team as a whole is playing with a sense of urgency after we started out 0-3,” said White House-Heritage coach Pat Brown.

Westmoreland opened the second half with a drive to the Patriots’ 9 before a fumble by quarterback Bayle Kirk was recovered by Ryan Smith.

“They’re a two-dimensional team, and it’s tough to prepare for a team that executes as well as they do,” said Westmoreland coach Steve Harris.
