Why chosen: Stout, who also was The Tennessean 2014 girls golfer of the year, captured her second straight Class A/AA individual title with a 153. She finished 9-over after shooting a 74 on the first day and beating Christian Academy of Knoxville’s Emma Wasson by two strokes. Her score helped CPA finish second in the team tournament behind CAK by just two strokes.

Quote: “Since I play year-round I didn’t really look at it as I’m the defending state champion or anything, I just kind of went into it as another golf tournament and just wanted to go play and see what happened.”

College plans: “I will be playing college golf, but the school is still undecided … and as for a major, I have a few things in mind, but nothing is official.”

Family: Parents Kevin and Tonya, sisters, Brielle (19) and Kiah (11).

Nickname: “Pearl or Pearly, since Pearl is my middle name.”

Best high school sports moment: “My basketball state title and both golf state titles hold a special place in my heart. They all had their own emotions.”

Favorite sports team: “I have a few, just depends what time of the year it is!”

Dream job: LPGA golfer

Favorite teacher: “Buddy Harston. He has taught me everything I need to know; Very thankful for him.”

Instagram or snapchat: Instagram. “I have both but Instagram is a story of good moments in my life that I will always be able to look back on as I grow older.”

Fall or spring: “Fall because my birthday falls during this time and I like playing as the leaves are changing. It is usually the perfect weather for golf.”
