Roundup: Dangerfield scores 38 in win over Smyrna

Blackman senior Crystal Dangerfield scored a career-high 38 points in Wednesday's 68-55 win over Smyrna.

Connecticut signee Crystal Dangerfield scored a career-high 38 points in top-ranked Blackman's 68-55 win over host Smyrna at Harry Gill Jr. Gymnasium.

Dangerfield, a two-time Tennessee Gatorade Player of the Year, scored 27 in the second half. She finished a pair of 3-pointers and hit 10 of 11 from the free-throw line.

It marked the seventh time this season that Dangerfield, the top-rated point guard in the country, has scored over 30 points. Her previous career high was 34 points.

South Florida signee Jazz Bond and Mia Greatrex each scored eight points for Blackman (23-3 overall, 10-1 in 7-AAA).

Candace Gaines scored 18 points to lead Smyrna (13-13, 4-7). Kesha Brady and Tyra Hughes each added 10.

Stewarts Creek 55, Siegel 38: Brandi Ferby and Brianah Ferby scored 15 and 14 points, respectively, to lead 10th-ranked Stewarts Creek (20-4, 7-4) to the sweep of Siegel (9-19, 2-9). Jasmine Smith and Morgan McCrary each added seven.

Patrecia Brown scored 14 points to lead Siegel. Rachel Tracy and Correna Ellis tallied nine apiece.

Boys

Blackman 62, Smyrna 45: Top-ranked Blackman rolled past the Bulldogs behind 22 points from Cedriontis Wilson. Wilson hit four 3-pointers.

Blackman (25-0, 11-0) held the Bulldogs (8-17, 2-9) to just five points in the third quarter.

Christian Dewitt tallied 14 points. Jarrell Reeves and Trent Gibson had seven apiece.

Trey Wilder led Smyrna with 16 points. Myles Kumrow had nine.

Stewarts Creek 58, Siegel 54: Tyler Conley scored 15 points to pace the Red Hawks (8-16, 4-7) to their second straight win. Brayden Jackson added 11 and Desmond Sales had nine.

Braxton Eddings led Siegel (7-17, 2-9) with 15. Brian Normand had 11 and C.J. Murray added nine.
