Donelson Christian Academy’s Jayden Walker was not slowed by the soggy field or the Jackson Christian defense Friday night, as he rushed for 291 yards and scored four touchdowns to lead DCA to a 36-9 win.

Walker scored three touchdowns on short runs of five, six and seven yards in the first half. His final score came on a 79-yard run up the middle when at first it looked like he would be tackled for a loss. Walker ran inside, outside or where ever he could find a slight opening.

“It just seemed like nothing was going our way tonight,” said Eagles coach Todd Roland. “A lot of that has to do with the fact that DCA is a good football team that is very well coached.

“I am sure that once we break down the game tape we will find some positive things to take away from tonight’s game.”

The Eagles offense was unable to move the ball on a consistent basis against the DCA defense for most of the night.

Jackson Christian's Will Buehler (4) runs with the ball against Donelson Christian Academy at Ronnie Fowler Field on Friday.

“Will is a leader on this team and our quarterback, and I think it knocked us off balance when he went out,” Roland said, “It just took us too long to get back in the game.”

Jackson Christian did get a score late in the game as Luke Robertson ran five yards up the middle for the Eagle touchdown. Robertson ran the ball seven times for 37 yards on the scoring drive.

The Eagles (0-2) will travel to Halls next Friday as they look to get the season turned around.
