ROUNDUP: Scotts Hill comeback falls short

SCOTTS HILL - What looked to be a rout at halftime turned into late-game drama as Scotts Hill came back on Wayne County in the second half before ultimately falling 46-42 in the final seconds.

The Wildcats led 40-6 at halftime, but Scotts Hill came out playing better ball in the second half on both sides of the line.

The Lions took the lead late, 42-40.

But Wayne County scored with 37 seconds to go for the final score. Scotts Hill had a shot at winning as the game ended, but their scoring try failed.

Lexington 44, Riverside 9: The Tigers began their season by routing their neighbors in Decatur County.

The Tigers began the game by marching down the field with a touchdown pass for the early 7-0 lead.

Lexington led 27-2 at halftime.

Myles Peoples had two defensive touchdowns for Lexington in the victory.

South Fulton 62, Bruceton 39: The Red Devils jumped out to a 35-14 lead in the first half and didn’t look back from there.

Zayveon Johnson rushed for three touchdowns and caught another touchdown pass.

Quarterback Brady Snider ran for two touchdowns and had the pass to Johnson as well.

Johnson finished with 172 rushing yards on 17 carries.

Tristan Wynn had 60 receiving yards.
