GALLATIN A five-goal effort from senior Veda Hooge was more than enough for Gallatin, as the Lady Wave cruised to a 9-3 victory over visiting Cheatham County on Monday evening.

Hooge scored late in the first half to give the Lady Wave a 3-2 lead at halftime, then Gallatin struck for four goals in the first 10 minutes of the second half.

Kate Johnson scored twice for Gallatin, along with goals from Courtney Bryan and Camilla Gomez.

Commandos win Davidson Academy Invitational

HENDERSONVILLE The Hendersonville High boys golf team won the Davidson Academy Invitational tournament at Country Hills Golf Club on Monday.

The Commandos, led by junior Bryce Lewis’ 70, defeated second-place Macon County by nine strokes.

Lewis tied for second place individually with Station Camp senior Heath Petty, three shots behind Franklin Road Academy’s Josh Holtschlag, who shot 67.

Station Camp finished sixth, while Pope John Paul II finished seventh. Jac Deaton’s 78 led the Knights.

FRA won the girls’ tournament, 26 strokes better than Clarksville Academy.

PJP II finished fourth, while Hendersonville finished fifth.

Christian Community School rallies to defeat Middle Tennessee Heat

The Christian Community School (White House) volleyball team defeated Middle Tennessee Heat in five sets on Saturday, rallying from a two-set deficit to collect a 23-25, 20-25, 25-21, 25-16, 15-5 victory.

Jordan Martin led the Lady Colts with 60 assists and 11 kills. Martin and Becca Wilson each had a team-high nine aces, while Lauren Wilson added 30 assists and three aces. Wilson also provided 18 assists and nine kills, while Mikayla Runquist had 22 assists, nine kills and four aces.
