Maplewood senior and last season’s Class AA Mr. Basketball winner Bo Hodges has committed to play basketball at East Tennessee State.

Maplewood’s Bo Hodges (1) has committed to play basketball at East Tennessee State.

Hodges, a 6-foot-3, 190-pound shooting guard, announced his decision via Twitter on Sunday night, posting from his account, “I am blessed to say that I’ve verbally committed to East Tennessee State University.”

Hodges, who was also offered by the University of Memphis, averaged 23.4 points and 14.3 rebounds for Maplewood a season ago, leading the Panthers to a 23-6 record and their first region Region 5-AA title since 2010. Hodges, a 2015-16 All-Midstate first-team selection, also plays wide receiver for Maplewood’s football team.
