Prep Roundup: Station Camp squads remain unbeaten

Hendersonville girls stay perfect; Westmoreland squads sweep Portland; Beech girls, Merrol Hyde boys get first victories

GALLATIN Station Camp’s boys outscored visiting Rossview 28-19 in the fourth quarter to improve to 3-0 with a 72-66 victory. Four players – Chase Freeman (18 points), Kody Eden (18), Max Barnett (12) and Thomas Zazzaro (10) – scored in double figures.

>> The Lady Bison also improved to 3-0 after hanging on for a 62-60 victory over Rossview.

The Lady Hawks outscored Station Camp 15-8 in the fourth quarter.

Emiline Payne scored 16 points, while Olivia Delk added 12 and Jane Deason chipped in 11.

Boys

Beech 79, West Creek 61: Four players scored in double figures as Beech improved to 2-1 with a victory at West Creek.

Ty Dean scored 17 points, while A.J. Robertson (15), Mitchell Sorensen (14) and Nelson Smith (10) also hit double figures for the Buccaneers.

Merrol Hyde 62, Madison Academy 43: Connor Dunn (18 points), Ollie Talmadge (17) and Graceson Lawrence (10) combined for 45 points in the Hawks’ first victory of the season.

Westmoreland 56, Portland 45: The Eagles collected their first victory of the season, improving to 1-1 with a victory at Portland (1-2).

Clarksville 67, Hendersonville 44: The Commandos fell to 1-2 after a loss at Clarksville.

Girls

Hendersonville 62, Clarksville 48: Peyton Sheehan (23 points), Deshiya Hoosier (17) and Brooke Long (13) combined for 53 points as the Lady Commandos improved to 3-0 with a victory at Clarksville.

Westmoreland 52, Portland 34: Westmoreland jumped out to a 23-3 lead after one quarter to cruise past Portland.

Karley Smith led the Lady Eagles (1-1) with 15 points.

Demaira Bell led Portland (1-2) with nine points.

Beech 58, West Creek 31: Head coach Kristi Utley collected her first victory as the Lady Buccaneers (1-2) defeated West Creek.
