Crockett County's Yasmine Pankey and the Lady Cavaliers are into the girls basketball Dirty Dozen this week.

With three weeks of the season now over, fans are starting to see which teams are truly going to be contenders this year and which ones look to be rebuilding.

Now some teams have played a tough schedule and have a losing record at the moment, and those teams still have a chance to shine on the court.

After taking two losses last week, Crockett County responded with three wins this week to prove the Lady Cavaliers are a team to watch for in District 13-AA.

As we enter into a new week sure to bring upsets, here is the new girls basketball Dirty Dozen:

1. Westview (13-AA) (6-0) – The Lady Chargers are still unbeaten on the season and could pick up two more wins with home games against Liberty and Henry County this week. Results: Beat Gibson County. Last week: No. 1.

2. South Side (14-AA) (4-0) – The Lady Hawks showed on Friday night that they can win even when they are not playing their best. The lone game this week is with Liberty as they will try to show improved play and continue to win. Results: Beat Haywood. Last week: No. 2.

3. Middleton (15-A) (3-1) – The Lady Tigers have now won three straight games since an opening loss to Haywood. Middleton will be tested this week with the three Jackson private schools — TCA, Jackson Christian and USJ. Results: Beat Liberty, Ripley (Miss.). Last week: No. 4.
