Boys storylines: This could be a big tournament for CBHS. The Brothers upended defending Division 2 state champ St. Benedict to win the West region title and have two of the top five individual qualifiers, Bradley Pounds (second, 213.34) and Jackson Stanley (fifth, 209.95). St. Benedict's Nick Agnew is the top qualifier at 227.66 with Harding's Christian Smith third at 211.61. ... Terry Salvant of Middle College is the top individual qualifier in Division 1 (ninth, 218.22).

Girls storylines: On the heels of winning the region championship, St. Agnes is back to defend its 2016 title in Division 2. Next comes Lauren Davis of St. Mary's (179.33), Grace Becker of St. Agnes (174.21), Julianne Cordera of St. Benedict (164.79) and Harding's Nia Bowley (155.67). ... In D1, Jada Horn of Germantown has the second-highest average among individual qualifiers at 214.36 and will be a serious title threat. Ridgeway sophomore Tierney Crutcher (192.38) will also be in the mix. ... Region 8 champion Bartlett, led by Brianna Waddell (190.11) and freshman Jordan Mundt — daughter of former University of Memphis basketball player Bret Mundt — will represent Shelby County in the team competition.
