POW: Lytle has TCA on top of District 15-A

USA TODAY NETWORK – Tennessee
Trinity Christian Academy's Brynne Lytle (11) scored her 2,000th point during the HUB Classic at Oman Arena.

Three times the Trinity Christian Academy girls basketball team has faced a semifinalist from the 2016 Class A state tournament, and three times the Lady Lions have come away with a win.

TCA finished off the season sweep of Middleton on Friday night.

Multiple players have played key roles in the Lady Lions' success this season, but this past week, the most consistent player was senior Brynne Lytle.

Through three games on the week, Lytle scored 20 or more points in all three to finish with 64 points on the week.

She opened the week with 21 points against city-rival University School of Jackson in a loss.

Lytle then put up 20 in a win against Jackson Christian and 23 in the win on the road at Middleton.

State semifinalists won't go away for TCA either. Lytle and the Lions face a Class AA semifinalist on Monday with Westview, and there is a possibility that this team will see Middleton again, at least once, in the postseason.

TCA is 4-2 during the second half of the season with the losses coming against USJ and Scotts Hill, when TCA shot 28 percent as a team.

Win or lose against a quality Westview team on Monday, the Lady Lions have two more district opponents this week with home games against Madison and Adamsville.

Lytle has scored over 2,000 points in her career at TCA, and she will now try to lead her team to historic milestones like winning a district or region title for the first time since 2007 or a first sectional appearance since 2007. Or even making a third straight appearance int he region quarterfinals and semifinals.
