Dwayne Cupp has resigned as Carter High School's volleyball coach, citing health issues.

He coached 11 seasons at the school with his wife Cindi, who served as an assistant.

"We are leaving because of some on-going health issues and to be available to our children as they start their families," Dwayne Cupp said in an email on Monday.

Cupp helped Carter to a runner-up finish in District 3-AA and a Region 2-AA tournament berth last season. He coached three all-state players during his tenure.

"The team will be a contender next season as well," Cupp said. "There was not a senior on this past year's team... ."
