Oakland High School's basketball teams swept rival Siegel Friday night in the final District 7-AAA contests of the regular season.

The Lady Patriots captured a 78-20 triumph over the Lady Stars to finish 1-11 in league play (1-25 overall). Siegel fell to 3-9 in the district.

The Patriots managed to pull away from the Stars in the second half, taking a 63-52 victory to move to 10-2 in league play, 19-6 overall. Siegel fell to 5-7 in the district.

Oakland's Timmy Goodrich (30) goes up for a shot as Siegel's Riley Davis (24) guards him on Friday, Feb. 10, 2017, at Siegel.

The league tournament begins Wednesday with No. 6 vs. No. 7 seeds in play-in games.

Here is the breakdown of the two contests:

Oakland boys 63, Siegel 52

Records: Oakland 19-6, 10-2; Siegel 11-13, 5-7.

The skinny: The Patriots had already locked up second, but Siegel was playing for sole possession of third place. The Stars played tough throughout the first half, trailing by just two at intermission. However, a third-quarter Patriot run all but sealed the win. There is now a three-way tie for third place in 7-AAA (Siegel, Riverdale, La Vergne), which will be decided at the league meeting Saturday morning.

Turning point: Leading just 27-25 early in the third, Oakland proceeded on a 14-4 run that boosted its advantage to 41-29. Three-pointers were the key as the Patriots hit four during the scoring run (two by Cooper Baughn). By the end of the quarter Oakland led 48-32. Siegel went on a 12-2 run to start the fourth, but six points (50-44) was as close as the Stars got.

Leading scorers: Oakland: Keishawn Davidson 15, Mike Hayworth 14, Tavon Jelks 10; Siegel: Quentin Byrd 14, Dallas Campbell-Green 11, Omar Lyons 9.

Oakland's Maddie Cook (22) goes up for a shot as Siegel's Victoria Miller (32) guards her on Friday, Feb. 10, 2017, at Siegel.

Oakland girls 78, Siegel 20

Records: Oakland 1-25, 1-11; Siegel 4-20, 3-9.

The skinny: There wasn't much on the line but pride in this game, and Oakland showed a lot of it. Sloan Mann buried seven 3-pointers (on nine attempts) as the Lady Patriots started strong and rarely let up in their best on-the-court showing in a couple of weeks. Technically it was Oakland's first win, after having forfeited their first 18 victories for using an ineligible player, one that transferred from Siegel. The Lady Stars had already locked up fifth.

Turning point: Both teams were sluggish early, but an 8-0 run by Oakland late in the first quarter — sparked by a Shelby Jane Petty 3-pointer and a three-point play from Maggie Knowles — put the hosts up 12-2. Mann's first trey made it 17-4 by the end of the period.

Leading scorers: Oakland: Sloan Mann 24, Maggie Knowles 10, Shelby Jane Petty 10; Siegel: Keena Fletcher 9, Victoria Miller 5.

Quotable: "I definitely had more confidence in myself. It's the first season I've played for the team and I haven't had as much confidence in myself. I believed in myself more." — Oakland's Sloan Mann, following her season high.
