Harpeth Hall's Alex Walsh won a pair of individual events at last weekend's state swimming champion in Knoxville.

Led by freshman sensation Alex Walsh, the Harpeth Hall swim team claimed yet another girls team title at last weekend’s TISCA High School Swim & Dive Championship in Knoxville.

Walsh, one of the youngest swimmers to compete at last summer's U.S. Olympic Trials, delivered record-setting performances in two individual events, winning both the 200-meter freestyle (1:47.85) and 100-meter backstroke (52.80), and she also helped lead the Bears to first-place finishes in the 200-meter medley relay (1:41.84) and 400-meter freestyle relay (3:22.015).

Sophomore Ella Nelson also finished first in the 200-meter individual medley for Harpeth Hall, which won the girls team title and placed third in the combined (boys and girls) standing with 298 points, while a pair of area juniors — Brentwood Academy’s Allie Raab and Station Camp’s Riley Gaines — also came away with hardware.

Raab, who placed third in the 200-meter freestyle, broke her own state record (1:00.55) en route to the 100-meter breaststroke title, while Gaines won both the 100-meter butterfly (54.15) and 100-meter freestyle (50.19) for the third year in a row.

Baylor ran away with both the boys and the combined team championship, racking up a two-day total of 584 points — 276 more than runner-up Memphis University School — while Brentwood finished in fifth with 234.
