Tee Higgins caps Oak Ridge's rout with dunk

Tee Higgins stole the show once again.

In the midst of Oak Ridge High School's 111-77 victory over Clinton in the semifinals of the District 3-AAA tournament, the Wildcat standout got a wide-open look at the basket on a fastbreak and threw down a between-the-legs dunk.

The highlight reel play put the finishing touches on a victory that sends Oak Ridge to the district title game against Powell at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.

The victory was the 13th in a row for the Wildcats.

Carter 79, Austin-East 68: Carter scored 32 points in the fourth quarter to turn a one-point lead into an 11-point victory over Austin-East on the Roadrunners' home court.

With the win, the Hornets advance to the finals of the District 3-AA tournament, where they will face Fulton, who defeated Union County 66-50, at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday. The Falcons swept the regular-season series between the two teams.

Carter was paced by Adam Hurd and Ta'Michael Mims, who scored 28 and 24 points, respectively. Ronnie Pearson scored a team-high 20 points for Austin-East.

Grainger 58, Chuckey-Doak 40: Limiting Chuckey-Doak to single-digit points in both the second and third quarters, Grainger cruised to a victory over the Black Knights for a spot the District 2-AA tournament title game.

The Grizzlies trailed 11-10 after one period, but proceeded to outscore Chuckey-Doak 18-8 in the second quarter and never looked back. Nathan Hayes scored a game high-tying 12 points for Grainger.

Webb 73, Battleground Academy 58: Myles Rasnick scored a game-high 23 points to lead Webb past Battleground Academy in the third-place game of the Division-II A Region tournament.
