Tennessean Midstate basketball Top 10: Girls

A look at the top girls high school basketball teams in Middle Tennessee, as ranked by the USA Today Sports Network of Tennessee.

1. Riverdale (26-0) – The Lady Warriors beat Smyrna 81-46 to reach their first District 7-AAA championship game since 2013. Last week: No. 1.

2. Stewarts Creek (22-4) – The fourth-year school plays Riverdale on Monday with a chance to win its first district championship in its first District 7-AAA title-game appearance. Last week: No. 2.

3. Wilson Central (28-2) – The Lady Wildcats must beat rival Mt. Juliet on Monday to claim their second straight District 9-AAA championship. Last week: No. 5.

4. Upperman (27-4) – The Lady Bees had a six-game win streak end to Livingston Academy in the District 8-AA semifinals despite Akira Levy’s 36-point performance. Last week: No. 3.

5. Cheatham County (25-2) – The Lady Cubs get a chance to avenge lone District 9-AA loss Tuesday against Westmoreland in league championship. Last week: No. 7.

6. Father Ryan (24-2) – The Lady Irish completed a regular-season sweep of three-time defending Division II state champion Brentwood Academy with a 50-45 win Friday night. Last week: No. 10.

7. Brentwood Academy (23-6) – The Lady Eagles finished second in Division II-AA East/Middle Region after being swept by Father Ryan. Last week: No. 4.

8. Ensworth (22-4) – The Lady Tigers enter the Division II-AA postseason on a five-game win streak. Last week: No. 6.

9. Pearl-Cohn (19-3) – The Lady Firebirds face East Nashville on Tuesday in the District 10-AA championship game. Last week: No. 8.

10. Westmoreland (24-3) – The Lady Eagles enter Tuesday’s District 9-AA championship game with Cheatham County having won 20 of 21 games. Last week: No. 9.
