Here are The Tennessean’s All-Midstate boys cross country teams, consisting of the top Nashville-area high school boys cross country runners from the 2016 season, as selected by the USA Today Sports network.

The finalists for the 2016 Runner of the Year award are invited to The Tennessean Sports Awards, presented by Farm Bureau Heath Plans, on June 6, where the winner will be announced.

Why chosen: The Bruins won the Class AAA state meet with just 29 points, placing all five runners in the top 15 and four in the top six. The team went on to finish third at the Nike Nationals.
