Brazier and Kaley Campbell were called up to the Lady Eagles’ varsity squad at the conclusion of the middle school season. Brazier finished with a team-high 17 points for Summertown (26-9), which shot 8 of 14 from beyond the arc in the first half, while Campbell contributed 11 points and five rebounds..

“These two babies (Brazier and Campbell) were brought up about a month ago and they’ve really helped us turn the corner and made us a better basketball team,” Lady Eagles coach Craig McGill said. “We didn’t bring them on too strong. We wanted them to prove themselves. We didn’t want them to just come in and take other kids’ places, but it’s hard to say they’re not two of the best players on the floor.

"They deserve their time."

Summertown will square off against South Greene in Friday’s 6 p.m. Class A semifinal.
