Tennessean Midstate basketball Top 10: Girls

A final look at the top girls high school basketball teams in Middle Tennessee, as ranked by the USA Today Network of Tennessee.

1. Riverdale (34-0) – The Lady Warriors completed their second perfect season in seven years and won the program’s sixth state championship. Last week: No. 1.

2. Upperman (34-4) – Class AA Miss Basketball Akira Levy’s 31 points led the Lady Bees to the program’s first state championship in school history. Last week: No. 3.

3. Ensworth (25-4) – Just two starters graduate from their DII-AA championship team and Lady Tigers are led by DII-AA state tournament MVP Jordyn Cambridge. Last week: No. 4.

4. Pearl-Cohn (26-5) – Troy signee Janiah Sandifer helped lead the Lady Firebirds to the program’s first Class AA final this season. Last week: No. 6.

5. Brentwood Academy (25-7) – Division II-AA Miss Basketball Sydni Harvey headlines the Lady Eagles’ 2017-18 squad. Last week: No. 7.

6. Dickson County (29-8) – The Lady Cougars reached the Class AAA state semifinals after beating Stewarts Creek in double overtime. Last week: No. 8.

7. Stewarts Creek (25-7) – Four-year starters Brandi Ferby and twin Brianah Ferby helped lead Stewarts Creek to its first Class AAA state tournament in the program’s fourth year. Last week: No. 2.

8. East Nashville (29-6) – The defending Class AA state champion's season ended in the state semifinals to state champion Upperman. Last week: No. 5.

9. Pickett County (30-3) – Pickett County drew Class A state champion South Greene in the Class A state quarterfinals for the second straight year. Last week: No. 10.

10. Clarkrange (27-12) – The Lady Buffaloes reached their 11th state championship in school history, finishing Class A runner-up for the third time. Last week: Not ranked.
