Lynn Dearing resigns as Goodpasture girls basketball coach

Lynn Dearing resigned as the Goodpasture girls basketball coach on Thursday according to a statement released by the school.

Dearing will remain the school's volleyball coach, where she has won five straight TSSAA state championships. She will also serve as assistant principal.

Goodpasture finished 17-10 this season, falling to Class A state runner-up Clarkrange in the Region 4-A semifinals. Dearing was the head coach the past three seasons after previously holding the position from 2001-05.

The 2017-18 school year will be her first as an assistant principal.

Goodpasture, which is currently competing in Division I, Class A will be moving to Division II next season.

The school will compete in Division II-A in basketball.
