Grace Christian Academy athletic director and boys basketball coach Mike Doig resigned Monday to fill the director of football operations job at Indiana University.

“Mike Doig did a great job as a leader, a coach and a mentor to our coaches and our student athletes,” Grace Christian principal Rob Hammond said. “He will be greatly missed by the GCA Community.”

Hammond added that an interim athletic director will be named upon Doig’s departure.

Doig’s resignation comes three days after the Rams were bounced from the Class A boys basketball state tournament following a 76-70 loss to Clay County in the semifinals at Middle Tennessee State’s Murphy Center.
