Mindy Odom resigns as Cookeville girls basketball coach

Mindy Odom has resigned as Cookeville's girls basketball coach after 25 seasons.

Odom has more than 500 wins as a head coach.

She has 33 years total coaching. She also had coaching stints as an assistant at Tennessee Tech and as coach at Cannon County.

Odom is a 1980 Nashville Christian graduate. She scored more than 2,000 points in her high school career before playing at Tennessee Tech.

Cookeville officials plan on posting the job opening.

Cookeville finished 17-14 this past season, falling to Bradley Central in the Region 3-AAA quarterfinals. Odom's last team to reach the state tournament came in 2009 when the Lady Cavaliers lost to McGavock in the Class AAA state quarterfinals.
