South Side takes on Lexington in a District 14-AA contest on Thursday.

The third week of the high school spring sport season has arrived. If the rain will hold off most of the week, there are some key games for West Tennessee to get out and enjoy.

Here are the 10 must-see games across West Tennessee this week:

1. Lexington at South Side softball (Thursday, 5 p.m.) – The Lady Hawks eliminated Lexington from the District 14-AA tournament last season. Lexington hasn’t forgotten that fact, and the Lady Tigers want to get back to the top of the district.

The two met once already this season in the Sara Beth Whitehead Tournament.

2. Riverside at Jackson Christian baseball (Monday, 6 p.m.) – These two teams are currently on top of the District 15-A standings.

Jackson Christian is 2-0 with wins over Middleton, while Riverside is 3-1 with two wins over Adamsville and a split with Scotts Hill. The second game is Tuesday at Riverside at 6 p.m.

3. USJ at Jackson Christian soccer (Saturday, 12:05 p.m.) – These two are fierce rivals, and they are both in the running each season for a spot in the state tournament.

The two will be in the same district next year. This year though it will be the third and final game for Jackson Christian during its Rivalry Week when the Eagles play TCA, Sacred Heart and the Bruins.

4. McNairy Central at Chester County baseball (Monday, 6:30 p.m.) – District 14-AA is always tight between the top teams, and this is a big series to kick off the district schedule.

Chester County is unbeaten on the season, while McNairy Central was unbeaten in its first seven games before losing twice in Gulf Shores (Ala.).

5. Jackson Christian at Riverside softball (Tuesday, 5 p.m.) – These two along with Scotts Hill are the favorites in District 15-A.

This will be Riverside’s first district game of the season, while Jackson Christian is 1-0 with a win over Middleton.

6. Dyersburg at Milan baseball (Monday, 6:30 p.m.) – These two teams represented District 13-AA in the region semifinals last week.

Dyersburg is off to a rough start with the lone win on the season coming against Millington, while Milan is 4-4. Both are looking for a spark as district schedule starts.

7. USJ at Lexington baseball (Thursday, 5 p.m.) – These two played to a one-run game during the first week of the season. USJ won 3-2 despite being no-hit by the Tigers.

The Bruins are still undefeated on the season. The Tigers have only lost one other game, and that was to Jackson Christian.

8. Sacred Heart at Jackson Christian soccer (Thursday, 5:05 p.m.) – This is Game 2 for Jackson Christian during Rivalry Week after playing TCA on Tuesday.

This will be Sacred Heart’s first test after beating Fayette Academy in the season opener.

9. McNairy Central at Lexington softball (Tuesday, 5 p.m.) – McNairy Central probably has the best pitcher in District 14-AA in Katie Turner.

She has the ability to keep the Lady Bobcats in any game, so this will be a good test for Lexington’s hitters.

10. Crockett County at Dyersburg soccer (Friday, 7 p.m.) – The Cavaliers opened the season with a win over one of the favorites in District 13 A-AA. Now they have a chance to beat the other favorite in the district for a strong start to the season.
