Former Siegel basketball standout Charles Clark completed a big junior season at Carson-Newman by being named third-team NCAA Division II All-American by Basketball Times.

Former Siegel standout Charles Clark earned third-team NCAA Division II All-American for Carson-Newman this season.

The South Atlantic Conference Player of the Year made headlines earlier in the season by recording 54 points in a triple-double, a scoring mark that broke school and conference records.

The 54 points was reported as the most points scored in a triple-double in either college or NBA history when he accomplished the feat on Feb. 25 in a win over Coker College.

It was also his second consecutive triple-double, which was the first time in Division II history and the seventh in NCAA history the feat has been accomplished.

He finished the season averaging 21.9 points, 7.3 rebounds and 3.7 assists. He collected three triple-doubles and a team-leading 43 steals. He shot 45 percent (70-of-154) from 3-point range and 81 percent from the free throw line.

Siegel's Wheeler commits to Tech: Siegel volleyball standout Julia Wheeler announced her commitment to Tennessee Tech on Monday.

The sophomore outside hitter was a first-team all-area performer for the Lady Stars this season. She collected 308 kills, 43 blocks, 122 digs and 44 aces as Siegel went unbeaten in district and region play and finished in the final four in the Class AAA state tournament.

Former Siegel standout Liz Bossong is currently a member of the Tennessee Tech volleyball team.

Siegel's Smith decides on MTSU: Siegel senior football standout Jacob Smith announced recently he would continue his football career as a walk-on at MTSU.

Smith won the Tennessee Titans Mr. Football Kicker of the Year award following this past season after finishing runner-up for the award in 2015.

He was 12-of-14 on field goals, with a long of 55, while perfect on 19 extra-point attempts. He also averaged 40.6 yards per punt and kicked more than 90 percent of his kickoffs into the end zone.
