HENDERSONVILLE Beech High’s baseball team was held to one hit by visiting Mt. Juliet on Wednesday, suffering a 6-0 loss to the Golden Bears.

Buccaneer starting pitcher Ian McWilliams allowed his first runs of the season in his third start, giving up three runs over five innings in taking the loss. Beech fell to 11-3 overall and 1-1 in District 9-AAA play.

Mt. Juliet (9-2, 3-0) scored single runs in each of the first two innings, then added one in the fifth. Curt Hoppe hit a three-run double in the top of the seventh inning to provide breathing room for the Golden Bears.

Ethan Smith struck out 12 Beech hitters in five innings to earn the victory, while Dylan Bonds pitched two innings of shutout relief for the save.
