Riverdale girls take first, Blackman teams second at Hopkinsville Invitational track meet

Riverdale's girls captured first place while both Blackman teams took second at the Hopkinsville (Ky.) Invitational track meet this past weekend.

The Lady Warriors finished with 132.5 points while Blackman was second with 88.5. West Creek's boys finished first with 113 points while Blackman was second with 86 and Riverdale third with 85.

Blackman's boys and girls track teams both finished second at the Hopkinsville Invitational Saturday.

In girls action, Blackman's Tanalya Gordon and Riverdale's Emma McClellan both won two events.

Gordon was first in the 200 meter dash (25.84) and long jump (17-05.00). She was also part of the 4x200 relay team (Raquell Killings, Madison Wade, Joelle Patton) that finished first (1:47.68)

McClellan was first in the 1600 run (5:27.53) and 3200 run (12:10.14).

Blackman's Jaclyn Wright was first in the high jump (4-11) while teammate Adriana Wilson was first in the shot put (30-10.00).

Riverdale's Anastasia Hayes was second in the 100 meter dash, second in the 200 meter dash and was part of both the 4x200 and 4x400 relay teams (Aislynn Hayes, Alasia Hayes, Annia Johnson) that finished second.

In boys action, Blackman's Charles Bennett and Camren Warner had big meets. Bennett won the 800 run (2:04.59), Warner won the 1600 run (4:31.13) and both were on the Blaze 4x800 relay team (Michael Hasselbrink, Casey Clementz) that finished first.

Riverdale's Timothy Dye won the 3200 run (10:16.66) while Blackman's Luke Bailey was first in the discus (112-02.50).

Blackman's 4x400 relay team (Hasselbrink, Clementz, Tevin Jackson, Bennett) finished second, as did the Blaze 4x200 relay team (Bailey, Darrilyn Council, Kaleb Crayton, Jonathan Clark).

There were 13 girls teams and 14 boys teams from Tennessee and Kentucky competing in the meet.
