Nine St. Agnes batters stepped up to the plate in Thursday's softball game against Briarcrest. And all nine went back to the dugout after the same result.

The strikeouts came courtesy of Saints starter Grayson House, who threw a three-inning perfect game in a 17-0 victory over the host Stars. The game was shortened due to the mercy rule but that hardly detracts from the efforts of House, who struck out all nine batters she faced.

"I just felt more relaxed on the mound than I have," said House, a junior who improved to 3-3. "And I know that I have the support of my teammates whether I strike out every batter or walk every batter. I know they have my back."

House, a junior, threw 31 pitches in the game, 29 for strikes.

"I was working the corners," House said. "I was (working) inside-outside with my fastball. And I have a natural curve on my ball that Makenzie Bradford (the team's catcher) says is pretty crazy."

Bradford, Jessica Wynia and Amanda Williams each drove in three runs to pace the offense. The victory improves Briarcrest's record to 14-9.
