Sonny Gray to make rehab start for Sounds

Sonny Gray, the Smyrna native and former Vanderbilt star pitcher, will make a rehab start for the Sounds on Thursday against New Orleans, the team announced on Twitter on Sunday.

First pitch is scheduled for 6:35 p.m. Gray is expected to be limited to about 75 pitchers, according to the Sounds.

Gray, the Oakland A's pitcher who has been on the disabled list with a reported right lat strain, earned a win after allowing one hit in five innings for Class A Stockton on Saturday.
