Scotts Hill moved one step close to tying Adamsville for the No. 1 spot in the District 15-A standings with a 15-4 victory over Jackson Christian on Monday.

Game 2 will be played Tuesday night at 6:30 p.m. at Scotts Hill.

Here are five takeaways from Monday night's game:

Scotts Hill's Konner Pearcy runs safely through first base before Jackson Christian's Taylor Graves can make the catch during their game, Monday, April 24.

1. Thoughts and prayers go out to Jackson Christian first baseman Taylor Graves. Graves was taken away from Jackson Christian in an ambulance after his heart rate went up and blood pressure went down. Graves played the first 1.5 innings before coming out of the game.

Jackson Christian coach Chuck Cooper gathered his team around the ambulance as the paramedics were securing Graves to pray for him.

Cooper said via text that Graves' vitals had stabilized late Monday night, and he was going to be released shortly.

2. Scotts Hill is two wins behind Adamsville in the District 15-A standings. Adamsville is 9-2 with one game against Middleton remaining. Scotts Hill is 7-2 with one game against Jackson Christian and two games against Middleton remaining.

Jackson Christian is now 5-6 and has secured the No. 5 seed in the district.

3. Scotts Hill has hitters throughout the lineup as all nine batter reached base, and six of the nine batters scored at least one run.

The top of the lineup is produced the most runs as Hunter Beecham and Evan Russell scored four runs each. No. 2 batter Charlie Lowry scored three runs.

"If we can find our consistency throughout the entire season from inning to inning, we are good," Scotts Hill coach Carl Harken said. "Right now, we are up and down. We have been preaching consistency. Tonight, it showed that when we got lead-off runners on, good things happen. We have been preaching getting lead-off runners on and then extending innings with two outs."

4.Evan Russell continued to show why he is one of the top players in West Tennessee. Russell went 3-for-4 with five RBI to go along with those four runs scored.

He also picked up the win on the mound as he went five innings, allowing four runs on three hits, while striking out 11.

5. Jackson Christian had the opportunity to cut into Scotts Hill's 7-0 lead in the bottom of the second inning. The Eagles loaded the bases with the first three batters all reaching base.

Jackson Christian scored two runs on hit batters with bases loaded, but two strikeouts and a popout got the Lions out of the inning.
