Rossview tennis, CHS softball and baseball claim titles
Rossview defeated Clarksville High School for the Boys District 10-AAA team championship Monday. It's the fourth straight district title for Rossview and the sixth in the past eight years. The Hawks were led by seniors Logan Miller and Eli Robertson who both finished undefeated in district matches this season as a doubles team and as individuals.
CHS baseball, softball claim title
Clarksville High's baseball and softball team wrapped up their District 10-AAA regular season championships this week. The baseball team handed Springfield a 7-0 victory to finish the regular season 27-5 and 13-1 in district. It's the second straight regular season title for the Wildcats. The softball team wrapped up a 19-6 campaign with a 12-2 district record for its fourth straight district regular season crown.
Lady Eagles track remains on course
Northeast's Lady Eagles finished the track regular season undefeated while posting 10 athletes in the top eight of the Vanderbilt Great 8 meet this week. The Lady Eagles, who won back-to-back 3A state championship in 2013 and 2014, watched as Teauna Anderson took first place in the 100 and 200-meter races, setting a school record in the 100 and a person best in the 200.
Northeast and the rest of the Montgomery County track teams will prepare for the Section 3 North Sub-Sectional Monday at West Creek with field events starting at 4 p.m. The track events will start Tuesday, May 9, at 4 and the sectional will begin May 15-16.
