Gallatin’s Will Stephens scored three goals in the Green Wave's 5-4 victory at Hendersonville on Thursday.

Gallatin’s boys soccer team snapped a five-match losing streak against rival Hendersonville on Thursday, claiming a 5-4 victory over the Commandos at Drakes Creek Park’s Field of Dreams.

Will Stephens’ hat trick paced the Green Wave, while Jesus Lopez and Elmer Majano each added a goal for Gallatin (7-6-2 overall, 3-2-2 9-AAA).

Hendersonville fell to 6-7-3 overall and 3-2-2 in district play.

Gallatin’s last victory over Hendersonville prior to Thursday came on May 3, 2012, a 2-1 victory at Gallatin.

The District 9-AAA Tournament begins Monday at higher seeds, though the final order is contingent on Friday’s match between Portland and Wilson Central.
