Northeast sends 2-seed Rossview to consolation bracket

Northeast came just a small step closer to that elusive District 10-AAA championship after knocking off No. 2 seed Rossview Monday, 5-1.

The Eagles will face the winner of Northwest-Rossview at 7 p.m. Tuesday. The Vikings and Hawks will play at 4:30 Tuesday.

On Clarksville High's side of the bracket, the Wildcats got past Springfield 4-0 and will face the winner of Springfield-Henry County.

DISTRICT 10-AAA SOFTBALL

In games that were originally scheduled for last Thursday, two quarterfinal games finally finished Monday night. Springfield knocked off Rossview 6-3 while Northeast blew past Northwest 14-5.

DISTRICT 10-AAA SOCCER

Rossview and West Creek moved into Tuesday's District 10-AAA semifinal with quarterfinal victories Monday. Rossview hammered Northwest 9-0 while West Creek blanked Henry County 4-0. The two teams will face off 

DISTRICT 10-A BASEBALL

Clarksville Academy staved off elimination Monday with a 7-5 win against Nashville Christian in the consolation bracket of their tournament. The Cougars beat Houston County Saturday, 5-0, before losing to Jo Byrns Sunday afternoon, 4-3.

TENNIS

Clarksville High's girls tennis team captured the District 10-AAA title, knocking off Springfield, led by Cameron Hammer and Maddie Montague who clinched the title with a doubles win.

The Wildcats' Michael Zenker and Jacksen Yarbrough took home the boys' doubles team title, beating Rossview Saturday. And Anna Wells and Keerthana Kasetty took home the doubles' top spot on the girls side.
