Dickson County hires new girls basketball coach.

Dickson County has hired a new girls basketball coach.

The school announced on it's Twitter page that Catie Embrey will take over as the new head coach for the Lady Cougars. 

Embrey takes over for the recently departed Greg Tipps, who took a job as the head boys basketball coach at Loretto.

Embrey spent the past three years coaching girls basketball at Columbia Academy, as she was hired by the Bulldogs in 2014. She began her coaching career at Three Oaks Middle School in Dyersburg before becoming an assistant coach at Dyersburg.

She played college basketball at Lipscomb from 2004-2007, and was named the team captain her final two years. Prior to that, she was an All-District and All-Region Player at Lawrence County High School.
