Chattanooga Christian Girls and Signal Mountain Boys won sectional tennis matches Thursday to advance to next week’s Spring Fling XIV state tournament in Murfreesboro.
CCS Girls 4, Silverdale 2
The victorious Chargers led 3-2 after singles and secured the sectional title (round of 16) with a win at No. 2 doubles to defeat host Silverdale Thursday at Chattanooga State.
CCS had singles wins by Bailey Dishmon, Olivia Torbett and Olivia Underwood, while Torbett and Underwood sealed the team win with an 8-2 pro set victory.
Next Week: CCS will play a semifinal match against the Region 7-8 winner at Old Fort Park Tuesday May 23 at 4 p.m. EDT.

Grant Williams (Signal Mtn.) defeated Daniel Cox at No.1 singles, 7-6 (6), 6-3, to lead Signal Mountain to a 5-0 win Thursday against host Red Bank to gain its first ever trip to the state tourney.
Next Week: Signal Mtn. plays Tuesday May 23 at 2 p.m. EDT at Old Fort Park in Murfreesboro against the Region 5-6 winner in a semifinal match.
