Host McCallie scored an early second half goal and two in overtime for a come-from-behind 3-1win against Brentwood Academy Friday in a D-II AA state quarterfinal soccer match.

B.A. (8-5-2) started fast and took a 1-0 lead in the first 10 minutes on a goal by Jackson Gregory, a lead which held up through the first 20 minutes.

McCallie (12-1-4) outshot the visitors 11-3 in the first half, but with nothing to show on the scoreboard, but finally evened the match in the 44th minute on a goal by Thomas Priest.

“We won our season meeting 4-0 (in late April) and tonight they made necessary adjustments including clogging the middle and then were able to get that early goal," said McCallie coach Chris Cushenbery

"We didn't want to adjust and conceded that early goal.".

The Blue Tornado continued to attack the visitors goal – outshooting the Eagles in regulation, 22-8, as B.A’s goalie – headed to play at Belmont Univ. -  was strong in the nets making several key stops to keep it 1-1 after 40 minutes.

Cameron is an outstanding goalie and played a great game tonight, “ said Cushenbery.

McCallie goalie Emerson Brock- who will play college soccer at Berry College - had three saves on the night

McCallie then added goals by Andre Roberts and Drew Viscomi – headed to Northwestern in the fall – in each of the 10 minute overtime periods to secure the win.

“Our goal was to contain Drew (Viscomi) and make someone else beat us,” said B.A. coach Gift Ndam.

“He played one of his best games of the season and we kept him from scoring until late.”

Final Four: MBA defeated, MUS, 3-0, Father Ryan rallied to beat Briarcrest, 3-2, and Christian Brothers stopped Baylor, 2-0, to secure the other spots in the state Final Four.
