The three finalists for the Daily News Journal's All-Area Track and Field Female Athlete of the Year all enjoyed success during the postseason.

Female Track and Field Athlete of the Year Imani Udoumana certainly lived up to expectations.

The Oakland senior won a state championship, dominating the triple jump with a distance of 37-10, which was 2 feet farther than the second-place finisher in Class AAA.

She also finished second in the 100-meter hurdles, sixth in the long jump, ninth in the 300 hurdles and fourth in the Class AAA pentathlon at state after winning four county titles.

Oakland’s Imani Udoumana pulls ahead to win the 100-meter hurdles at the L.D. Agee Rutherford County Track and Field Championships.

Blackman'sTanalya Gordon won the county championship in both the 100- and 200-meter dashes while finishing fourth at state in the long jump.

Riverdale's Anastasia Hayes won the county in the 400-meter dash and anchored the county champion 400-relay team while finishing fifth at state in the 400 and helping the relay team take fifth at state.

There were numerous second-place finishes at state among all-area performers, including the Stewarts Creek 4x200 relay team, MTCS' Mackenzie Harris (high jump) and Central Magnet's Taylor Cuneo (1600 run).

There were also a handful of third-place finishers, and several area athletes medaled at state.
