PrepXtra softball team announced
Gibbs softball coach Carol Mitchell adopts the philosophy that the regular season is nothing more than a preseason. The only games that matter are the ones come tournament time.
No team was better in during tournament time than the Lady Eagles this year, as they went 9-1 in the postseason, including a clean sweep through the Class AAA state tournament to win their first title since 2012.
After piloting Gibbs to its fifth state championship during her tenure, Mitchell has been named PrepXtra Softball Coach of the Year.
