With fall sports right around the corner, Happy Valley High School is looking to fill three open coaching positions.
Last week, Eddie Morrell, who coached boys’ and girls’ soccer and wrestling, stepped down after four years of coaching wrestling, three years of coaching women’s soccer, and two years of coach men’s soccer. Morrell also coached three years of wrestling at Happy Valley Middle School.
“I am great full for the time I have served with Carter County schools coaching sports at Happy Valley High School and Middle School,” said Morrell. “It helped me to reach children and work with a fine school system. I look forward to other opportunities as they may arise.
The most pressing position to fill will be the girls’ soccer coaching spot since the sport starts up in the fall.
“At this time we don’t have anybody,” said Happy Valley athletic director Matt Estep. “We are still looking and are going to have to make a decision real quick.”
