A look at the top small high school football teams in the Nashville area, as ranked by the USA TODAY Network – Tennessee. Small schools consist of teams from Class 1A, Class 2A, Class 3A, Division II-A and Division II-AA.

1. CPA (3-0) – A 28-0 win over Class 6A Smyrna is the Lions’ latest of non-region wins over larger programs. Last week: No. 1. This week: at Pearl-Cohn.

2. Pearl-Cohn (2-1) – The Firebirds beat Giles County 49-27 despite a depleted secondary due to injury. Last week: No. 2. This week: vs. CPA.

3. BGA (3-0) – Quarterback Drew Martin threw for 280 yards and ran for 125 yards in BGA’s 49-7 rout of Goodpasture. Last week: No. 3. This week: at Boyd-Buchanan.

4. Fairview (2-1) – The Yellow Jackets shut out Stewart County 41-0 in their Region 6-3A opener. Last week: No. 5. This week: at Waverly.

5. Giles County (1-1) – UT Martin commitment John Bachus threw for 370 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions in a 49-27 loss to Pearl-Cohn. Last week: No. 4. Next: vs. Lincoln County.

6. Waverly (1-1) – The Tigers received an unexpected week off after their non-region game with Grace Christian was canceled due to weather. Last week: No. 6. This week: vs. Fairview.

7. Davidson Academy (3-0) – Da’Joun Hewitt rushed for 195 yards and Stone Norton threw for 134 yards in a 42-7 rout of Jackson Christian. Last week: No. 7. This week: vs. Sycamore.

8. Smith County (3-0) – The Owls shut out Upperman 21-0 for their best start since going undefeated in the 2011 regular season. Last week: No. 8. Next: at York Institute.

9. Friendship Christian (3-0) – Jajuan Foutch racked up 215 rushing yards in a 41-7 rout of Chattanooga Grace. Last week: No. 9. This week: at Goodpasture.

10. DCA (3-0) – The Wildcats have outscored their first three opponents 124-0 to help duplicate their second straight 3-0 start in as many years. Last week: No. 10. This week: vs. FRA.
